Terms of Service
Effective: April 25, 2026 · Last updated: April 25, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the GRID by ZN mobile and web app (“GRID,” “the app,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
1. Who we are
GRID by ZN is software that helps drag racing tracks run race weekends. The platform is currently operated by an individual founder (business not yet formally incorporated). Once the business is incorporated, these Terms will be updated.
Contact: gridbyzn@gmail.com
2. What the app does
GRID lets racers maintain a profile, track their safety gear and vehicles, sign liability waivers, fill out tech cards, and look up their entries at participating tracks. It lets track staff log entries, inspect tech cards, manage events, and run race weekends.
GRID is software, not the racing operator. Racing happens between you and the track. We don’t run races, certify cars, decide eliminations, or guarantee anyone’s safety.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the app. To create one, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (under 18 needs a parent’s signed waiver to race).
- Provide accurate information (real name, real DOB, real phone, real emergency contact).
- Keep your sign-in credentials secure.
- Not share your account with anyone else.
If you give false information — especially around date of birth or emergency contact — your account can be suspended. False safety information can also affect whether a track allows you to race.
You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
4. Liability waivers
The app helps you sign liability waivers electronically. The waiver is a legally binding agreement between you (or the person you’re signing for) and the track. GRID is not a party to that agreement.
When you sign a waiver:
- You confirm you’ve read it.
- You understand it.
- You’re authorized to sign (yours, your minor child’s, or, if you select “family/crew,” theirs).
- You accept the risks of motorsport.
Signing a waiver in this app has the same effect as signing it on paper at the track. Don’t sign a waiver you haven’t read.
5. Tech cards and inspections
Tech cards filled out in the app describe your vehicle and safety equipment. Track inspectors review and approve them. Approval by an inspector means the inspector accepted your card on a given day. It does not guarantee your vehicle is safe to operate. You’re responsible for your own vehicle.
If you knowingly submit false information on a tech card and someone is injured as a result, you may be civilly or criminally liable. Don’t lie on a tech card.
6. What you can’t do
Don’t:
- Lie about who you are.
- Sign waivers for people who haven’t authorized you.
- Submit false information on tech cards.
- Try to bypass payment, gate-entry, or other staff workflows.
- Probe, scan, or attack the app, our database, or our infrastructure.
- Use the app to harass other users or staff.
- Use the app for anything illegal.
- Reverse-engineer or copy the app or its data for a competing service.
- Resell access to the app.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you do any of these.
7. Tracks and staff
If you’re a track admin, gate, tech inspector, or tower operator at a track, you also agree to:
- Only use staff features for legitimate track operations.
- Keep racer information confidential — you’re seeing it because of your role, not because you can share it.
- Use audit-trail features honestly and not to retaliate or harass.
- Not modify, void, or refund entries except for legitimate operational reasons.
Track admins are responsible for ensuring their staff use the app appropriately at their track.
8. Payments (when available)
Payments are not yet active. When they are, the following will apply:
- Card transactions are processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card number.
- Charges appear on your statement under the track’s name.
- Refunds are issued by the track, not by us. Contact the track first.
- A small platform fee may be added on top of the track’s price; we’ll show it before you confirm.
We’re not responsible for disputes between you and the track over services rendered (e.g., rainouts, missed sessions). Contact the track. We’ll provide receipt history if needed.
9. Service availability
We try to keep the app online and working, but we make no guarantees. The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t promise:
- Uninterrupted operation.
- Accuracy of any data displayed (it’s only as accurate as what’s been entered).
- That you’ll be cleared to race (that’s the track’s call, not the app’s).
We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the app at any time. We’ll try to give reasonable notice for major changes.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its code, branding, and content (other than what you upload) are owned by us. You can use the app under these Terms; you don’t get any other rights.
What you upload (your photos, signatures, tech card info) remains yours. You give us a license to store and display it inside the app for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- The app is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- We’re not liable for damages, injuries, lost profits, lost data, or anything else arising from your use of the app.
- Our total liability to you for anything related to the app is capped at the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently $0 since payments aren’t live).
Motorsport is dangerous. The app does not make racing safe. Your safety is your responsibility, the track’s responsibility, and the responsibility of the inspectors and staff at the event.
If a track approves your tech card or pairs you with a class, that’s based on the information you provided and the inspector’s review on that day. It’s not a safety certification by us.
12. Termination
You can delete your account anytime in Settings.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if a track requests it for legitimate reasons, or if we discontinue the service.
After termination, your personal information is removed or anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy. Audit-trail records may be retained.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (Adjust if/when business is incorporated elsewhere.)
If you’re in the United States, applicable U.S. consumer protection laws still apply where they grant you stronger rights.
Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and notify you in-app or by email for material changes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
